After 5 years of foot pain (caused by prominent bone spurs on the tops of my feet
and compounded by arthritis), after seeing an orthopedic surgeon and a podiatrist,
after wearing shoe inserts in all my shoes (primarily having to wear athletic shoes
day in and day out), after having untrasound and physical therapy treatments, after
rubbing expensive cream on my feet and taking over-the-counter and prescribed pain
meds, and after being told that surgery was the answer to remove the bone spurs (
that would involve 8 weeks in a wheelchair) I finally got smart! I made my first
appointment with Dr. Zhang about 5 months ago.
My son had seen an acupuncturist (out of state) for some years so I had a general
idea of what to expect.  Fortunately for me he also knew where to search and how to
do some extensive research to find someone with outstanding credentials in my area.
 Upon his recommendation I made my first appointment with Dr. Zhang.  Admittedly I
was a little nervous about seeing a new doctor, describing my problems and the
needles.  I need not have worried at all!
If you read this and are considering an appointment with an acupuncturist, you do
not need to look any further than Dr. Zhang. Scheduling an appointment with her will
be one of the kindest things you will ever do for yourself!  

Dr. Zhang's credentials and Chinese training experience are impeccable and that
experience and confidence from many years of practice made me feel comfortable on my
first visit. I felt comfortable enough to also mention that, in addition to my bone
spurs,  my knees were bothering me, that my digestive system didn't seem on the
right track, and that as hard as I tried I had difficulty losing weight.
 Consequently, as the result of Dr. Zhang's diagnosis she decided to treat me in ALL
of the above areas, with the bone spurs being of primary concern.  
I saw Dr. Zhang (always looking forward to my appointments) and after about 6 weeks
I felt some relief in ALL of the above areas, but I was most excited about the pain
lessening in my feet. After 2 months the relief I felt in my feet and knees was
noticeable. My digestive system was returning to "normal" more than 50% of the time
and I began to lose weight on a regular basis. 
In addition to the acupuncture, Dr. Zhang treated my bone spurs with Chinese herbs
and had some recommendations for an eating regimen to aid with weight loss and
digestion. By the end of the third month my bone spurs had gone down in size so much
that it was visible to my family. I began to wear something besides tennis shoes and
I was able to be on my feet for many hours.
It has now been 5 months and I no longer go weekly for appointments.  I can wear
shoes that I have not been able to wear for many years comfortably, and I can wear
them most of the day!  I am able to go up and down most stairways like an adult
person instead of looking like a toddler.  Although the arthritis still occasionally
flares up, I am not uncomfortable enough that I take any over-the-counter pain
medication on a regular basis. I do not get up to use the bathroom 3 times nightly
anymore, and I am losing weight on a regular basis.  I use many of the breathing and
relaxation techniques I have learned at my appointments on a daily basis. Generally,
I feel healthier and have more energy. 
A success story for sure!  I always look forward to my visits with Dr. Zhang because
in addition to being an expert in her field which yields fast results for her
patients, she is very skilled with her diagnosis and explanation of treatment, has a
way of making her patients feel comfortable and is genuinely a kind and caring
person. I feel she is genuinely interested in the whole patient, not just the part
of the body needing treatment. Additionally, she is punctual, and waiting is rare.
 You will know when you schedule your appointment how long it will take, and can
plan accordingly.  For all of the above reasons I would recommend Dr. Zhang without
any hesitation to anyone, and will certainly continue to use her myself.

You saved my job

I am the last person who thought they'd ever try acupuncture, but my
allergies were so bad they were affecting my job.  I had tried every western
medical treatment-inhalers, pills, etc., and none worked. In fact, the side
effects of all the drugs worsened my condition.
I felt better immediately after my first acupuncture treatment, and now,
after about 4 months, I feel cured!!  It has been an amazing blessing for
which I am very grateful.

Dr Zhang is a highly trained doctor, very punctual & precise-you rarely have

to wait. She is excellent at diagnosing root causes, and she is a warm,
caring individual.
Also, when  I first contacted Dr. Zhang she estimated the treatment
requirements in a very honest, upfront manner which I appreciated-allergies
are difficult to treat and require long term commitment to treatment plan.

I highly recommend Dr. Zhang!

I got a baby girl

I was trying to get pregnant for two years, never succeed. My OBGYN suggested me to try IVF, but the infertility specialist doctor told me that my successful chance will be very low due to age and eggs quality, I was depressed. My friend asked me to try Dr. Zhang, she told me Dr. Zhang had helped her before. I made an appointment , Dr.Zhang touched my pulse , looked my tongue and asked me a bunch of questions, then she said she could help me, she asked me to get acupuncture treatments for six months before I did egg retrieval. I started acupuncture treatment first time in my life. I came once a week for six months , then started my IVF procedure and I got pregnant in the first IVF trying. I was so excited and the amazing thing is when I visited Dr.Zhang, she told me I would have a baby girl by touching my pulse, and my ultrasound showed I had a girl later. I shared my experiences to all my friends, I really appreciate her knowledge, good skills and great help.

Almost three years ago I had a terrible fall after a summer of physical theraphy for
Cervical Radiculopathy.  I was in severe pain, could barely walk , with continous
back spasms.  Both of my legs were bruised from the my waist to mid calf.  I
couldn't tolerate any more pain.  I had searched online for something to help me
other than pain pills and muscle relaxers around the clock.  I wanted to return to
work, tend my garden and take care of my grandson.  I found Dr. Li Zhang on the
internet site for "Qi  For Life".Dr. Li Zhang is a highly qualified OMD, who trained
and taught in China.  I met with Dr. Zhang who actually listened to my history and
past medical treatments, medications, and most importantly my goals.  After looking
at my back and legs she agreed to work with me towards my goal of getting better
without multiple pain medications. After 20 minutes on her table my back began to
relax.  I had several hours of needed relief.  I returned to Dr. Zhang every week
for 10 weeks.  By the end of 15 weeks I was able to work in my garden and to clean
my house without assistance.  Soon thereafter returned to work and my hobbies.  I
continue to see Dr. Li Zhang every 2 weeks as this helps with my severe arthritis in
my back and neck.  Your probably wondering what accupuncture feels like, when the
needles are inserted you may feel pressure ( if your muscles are tight) most of the
time just the pressure of Dr. Li Zhang's touch.  As you can tell from my story I
highly recommend alternative treatments for any medical need.  Try it you will like
it and Dr.Li Zhang.

Why Dr. Li Zhang?

How fortunate we are to have a medical professional available to us in Dr. Zhang.

Most of us have experienced that all the training in the world, the brightest minds, do not necessarily possess and use understanding, compassion and intuition.

So let me tell you what I know about Dr. Zhang. She learned the science and art of acupuncture from the Masters in China, the birthplace of acupuncture. She has been thru medical school in China and believes that traditional western medicine and non traditional medicine can work hand in hand at different times and different ways for a variety of maladies

My personal experience with Dr. Zhang over the past 21/2 years has been physically and emotionally rewarding. She has demonstrated time and again with me the capacity of her wealth of knowledge in the correct diagnosis and acupuncture applications. I have found in her the wonderful ability to read and understand my body and my feelings. She has been able to redirect my body into a better pain free and pain managed order that my system has embraced with the benefits of being pain free and a feeling of happiness and contentment that I had not felt in many years.

I have been treated by 3 other acupuncturists in my adult life. Compared with Dr. Zhang I have found them all lacking in their ability to help me the way she has. With her training, empathy, intuition, and wonderful sense of humor, I feel confident you will be delighted with the treatment that Dr. Zhang will recommend and administer.

You make me look better


Dr. Zhang,

You had mentioned to me that you thought my skin color was better since I've
being getting my treatments. I mentioned that to my husband a week or so
ago. From a man who doesn't say much about "looks" I was really excited when
he told me this morning that he thought Dr. Zhang was right - that my skin
did look better. It must look really better for him to notice and comment.
So, thank you, for your marvelous talent to help people get better, and I
hope missing one Saturday doesn't set me back too far.

Just wanted to drop a note and tell you thank you.  

I so appreciate you, your wonderful skills, your knowledge. The care you give to
me in helping me get my health back.  Which is priceless.

I also wanted you to know, that the eye swelling of being outside this
morning....the swelling is almost gone...thanks to you!!  Only a tiny bit swollen.
 In the past I would of been swollen and horrible sick for at least 4 to 5 days.
Thank you!!!!!

I am very very blessed to of found treatment with you and wanted you to know.

Dr. Zhang is the bomb!

Dr. Zhang is absolutely amazing! I have been seeing her for stomach pains. After she needles me they are gone. It is amazing! I also have shoulder problems. She pressure points my shoulder and it feels much better. She is a miracle worker. If you are looking for an acupuncturist…..STOP looking! You already found one. Go see Dr. Zhang. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Zhang was able to explain how Chinese medicine can aid multiple physical ailments with one treatment. She also took the time to explain how the body works together mentally and physically and how major organs control many facets of your health.

Two different gastrointestinal doctors have told me in the past that there is no cure for IBS and is only treatable with medication. However, after visiting Dr. Zhang for several treatments, she corrected my IBS, and I was able to stop taking medication. I feel as well now as I did in college 11 years ago. Additionally, I had a hormone imbalance that prohibited me from getting pregnant. Dr. Zhang was able to restore my hormonal balance, and I was able to get pregnant again.

After six consecutive treatments, I began to physically feel the results of acupuncture. I had more energy, I was emotionally happier, and I felt healthier than I have in a decade.

At times, some of the needle pricks were painful and left small bruises; however, the majority of the experience could be described as mildly uncomfortable. The initial discomfort is only momentary. After several months of treatment, I could actually begin to relax my whole body and enjoy the sensations caused by acupuncture.

I will continue to see Dr. Zhang as the need arises as she genuinely is concerned about your well being. She also makes the effort to explain why your body may not be functioning correctly and how it effects the whole body’s qi.

I will absolutely recommend Dr Zhang. As a matter of fact, I have already referred three friends to

Qi For Life that continually see her for treatment.

Thank you for all your wonderful and kind help Li. I had no idea at the beginning of treatment if acupuncture would help my symptoms at all. You explained to me what you were doing, what to expect and it all happened pretty much just like that, except for my body being stubborn! Over the six to eight months I have been in your care, I have seen improvements in all the areas I have problems. The relief I have gotten has been gradual but as my condition is an ongoing one, I think that is to be expected.
